REJOICE! MY SOUL
Why is my soul so distraught? Why am I so restless and only have tears at night? Why do the ones that I love the most laugh and ridicule me and cause me the most pain? I have no more strength and my desire is gone. Lord, I will place my hope in you.
Why do my enemies conquer me so easily? Why do the wicked prosper and the godly suffer? Why do the ones I hate most rule over me? They have no respect for God and I live everyday in uncertainty. But Lord, with my hope in you, there is peace.
So rejoice world! Rejoice! In your brokenness cry out! In uncertainty and fear, know that your God is near. O People of God, sing praise! In the darkness, we are not alone. A Savior will come! The collision of fear and hope, the explosion of joy. I will lift my eyes to the sky.
So rejoice my soul! Rejoice! Rise again! For the Lord will not forget about the one’s he loves! O People of God, Thank the Lord! He will deliver us. Our Savior will come! Can you not see? Can you not hear? Heaven is parting, and God is coming down. To comfort us, his first love.
